Target audience:

This profile addresses candidates willing to achieve knowledge and skills required to protect computer networks.

Learning objectives :

  • Learn about common security principles, common security Threats, cryptography Concepts, secure access, content, endpoint security, secure remote access.
  • Validate skills for installation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of a secure network to maintain integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data and devices.
  • Develop the skills needed to design, implement and support security for network devices and ensure their integrity.
  • Understand core security concepts, managing secure access, VPN encryption, firewalls, intrusion prevention, web and email content Security, and Endpoint Security.
  • Secure local area networks and network devices.
  • Manage a secure network.
  • Learn about modern network security threats.
  • Develop a comprehensive security policy.

The candidate who wishes to obtain the diploma « Network Security Administrator Cisco CCNA Security » will have to successfully complete all 3 compulsory courses.

Objectifs
  • Understand and describe the devices and services used to support communications in data networks and the Internet.
  • Understand and describe the role of protocol layers in data networks.
  • Understand and describe the importance of addressing and naming schemes at various layers of data networks in IPv4 and IPv6 environments.
  • Design, calculate, and apply subnet masks and addresses to fulfill given requirements in IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
  • Explain fundamental Ethernet concepts such as media, services, and operations and build a simple Ethernet network using routers and switches.
  • Understand and use Cisco command-line interface (CLI) commands to perform basic router and switch configurations.
  • Understand and utilize common network utilities to verify small network operations.
  • Analyze data traffic.

Objectifs
  • Understand and describe basic switching concepts and the operation of Cisco switches, as well as enhanced switching technologies such as VLANs, VLAN Trunking Protocol, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, and 802.1q.
  • Understand and describe the purpose, nature, and operations of a router and routing tables as well as configure and troubleshoot VLANs and inter-VLAN routing.
  • Understand and describe dynamic routing protocols, distance vector routing protocols, and link-state routing protocols.
  • Understand, describe, configure and troubleshoot access control lists (ACLs) for IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
  • Understand, describe, configure and troubleshoot Network Address Translation (NAT) operations.
  • Understand, describe, configure and troubleshoot the operations of Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol and Domain Name System for IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Configure and troubleshoot basic operations of a small switched network and of routers in a small routed network as well as an Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) network.
  • Configure and troubleshoot static routing and default routing (RIP and RIPng).
Prérequis

Successful completion of the module «  CCNA - introduction to networks » (1500E) or proof of equivalent certified knowledge.

Objectifs
  • Implement AAA on Cisco routers using local router database and server-based ACS or Identity Service Engine (ISE).
  • Implement firewall technologies to secure network perimeter.
  • Implement IPS to mitigate attacks on networks.
  • Secure endpoints and mitigate common Layer 2 attacks.
  • Secure communications to ensure integrity, authenticity and confidentiality.
  • Implement secure Virtual Private Networks.
  • Implement an ASA firewall configuration using the CLI and an ASA firewall configuration and VPNs using ASDM.
  • Test network security and create a technical security policy.
Prérequis

Succesful completion of the module «  CCNA - routing and switching essentials » (1501E) or proof of equivalent certified knowledge.

Notes
