OBJECTIVES & LEARNING OUTCOMES

This Master degree aims for the students to transfer smart Secure ICT knowledge directly into technical innovation, through the prism of the competitive and innovative tool of technical standardisation, during their internship in collaboration with their company.

The Master covers various Smart ICT technologies, such as Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchains and Distributed Ledger Technologies, while addressing Digital Trust aspects related to these technologies (smart secure ICT).

It allows the students to:

  • master the smart secure ICT and Technopreneurship concepts and their implementation in the market
  • cater for the current and future issues and standardisation needs in ICT areas such as digital intelligence and digital trust
  • develop a prospective view on future and emerging technologies to assimilate, disseminate and effectively use the knowledge
  • take advantage of the benefits of ICT governance in companies and governments to control and effectively use the competences and resources of the organisation
  • measure the challenges of digital trust and information security for the development of smart ICT
  • identify the key principles and technologies to achieve smart secure ICT projects
  • understand how the voluntary technical standards process works, particularly in the ICT sector
  • identify and use published and draft standards relevant to business
  • discover the role of standardisation delegate working on draft standards
  • analyse the opportunities offered by smart secure ICT and create value for business through an internal standardisation strategy.

The Master is mainly designed for professionals in the Smart ICT driven economy sectors, technopreneurs and anyone fulfilling the conditions for admission.

General terms and conditions

1. COURSE REGISTRATION


Candidates wanting to enrol for the Master MTECH - Technopreneurship: mastering smart ICT, standardisation and digital trust for enabling next generation of ICT solutions are required to register using the online registration form at

2. PREREQUISITES

Candidates for admission are required to have at least one of the following degree:

  • Bachelor degree in ICT, Business, or equivalent, having at least 3 years of experience after the bachelor degree in any of the following domains: ICT, Standardisation, and Technopreneurship; the admission file should then proceed through validation of prior learning and experience (“validation des acquis") to accrue the recognised components to the equivalent of “level of master - 240 ECTS”.
  • Master degree (at least level of master 1 - 240 ECTS). This level should be obtained by either having a level corresponding to a master M1, contemplated by an academic recognition.

In addition, a good level of English is required: TOEFL/IELTS test if English is not your native language or language at work.

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with at least 5.5 points.
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), 213 (computer-based test, CBT), 79 (internet-based test, IBT), 550 (paper-based test, PBT).

3. ADMISSION TO THE COURSE

Initial selection based on following;

  • The admission requirements have been met in accordance with the conditions mentioned in the previous section.
  • Students’ previous scientific education and grades.
  • Motivation for the degree programme.

If necessary, an interview can be planned, by convening the applicant.

Acceptance to the course is effective from the moment the LLLC has received the payment of the registration fees. The latter are to be paid at the latest 8 days after the invoice date or for the date indicated on the invoice. 10 % of the registration fees remain due if a withdrawal from the course has not been notified in written (letter, email, fax) at least 7 working days before the start date.

4. PAYMENT OF REGISTRATION FEES

The fee is subject to change.

The candidate is required to pay the registration fee in accordance with the instructions on the invoice. A candidate failing to pay is considered as non-registered on the course and neither allowed to attend classes, nor any exams, nor dissertation defences. He/she will not receive any document or certificate of attendance or any other communication, nor any results related to this training course. The Chambre des salariés will engage the necessary legal means to recover registration fees, amongst others through wage withholding as well as damages and interests.

5. COURSE CANCELLATION

In case of course cancellation by the LLLC, especially when the required number of candidates has not been reached, fees already paid will be reimbursed.

6. WITHDRAWAL FROM THE COURSE

In case of withdrawal from the course the candidate is required to promptly inform the LLLC in writing.

Registration fees still due depend on the date of the withdrawal notification by the candidate to the LLLC:

  • Cancellation more than 7 working days before the course start date: reimbursement of the total amount of the registration fee;
  • Cancellation 7 or less working days before the course start date: reimbursement of 90 % of the registration fees;
  • Cancellation after the course start date: total amount of fees remains due to the CSL.

In certain exceptional cases (serious illness, accident of the candidate, etc) the LLLC can proceed to the reimbursement of the registration fees. Such decisions taken by the LLLC are without appeal and without motivation.

7. TEACHING STAFF AND COURSE CONTENT

The programme, a potential list of teaching staff, as well as the the content of the courses displayed in the brochure or on our website are subject to change.

8. DATES AND PLACE OF COURSE

The course is held at LLLC premises in Luxembourg City and at University premises in Belval.

Candidates shall be informed of the dates as well as the location where the classes will be held, once the registration fees have been received by the LLLC.

9. COURSE ATTENDANCE

Course attendance is compulsory and shall be verified by the candidate’s signature of an attendance sheet distributed by the lecturer at the beginning of each of the classes.

10. QUALIFICATIONS

In order to be awarded the Masters degree, participants are required to have attended and passed all modules. They are required to have defended their dissertation successfully.

11. EXAM REGULATIONS

Exam procedures are defined in accordance with the University of Luxembourg exam guidelines.
